Projects have different phases. From pre-production, tracking and overdubbing, to mixing and mastering, each has it’s challenges and rewards. One of my favourite stages is when you have the meat and potatoes down, and you get to the bit where you’re doing the pretty stuff…The harmonies, incidental parts, floaty bits, the ear candy. The moments that make you go ‘ooh’ are a lot of fun to do. And that’s what we’re up to this week. Yesterday we had string arranging with Ed Bainton, who’s just returned from a year composing film music with Henry Jackman in L.A, and today Moke singer John Hogg is in to do harmony vocals. I love these sessions.
